Oregon Coast Trip Part I

Todd, Meadow and I headed out to the Oregon coast this past Friday for the weekend. I had been wanting to go for the past several weekends, but we were holding out for better weather. I am so glad we chose the weekend we did, because the weather actually turned out pretty great. Well, as good as you can get for spring on the Oregon coast. We left fairly early on Friday morning so we could have a full day at our destination for the first night at Fort Stevens. On our way up to Fort Stevens we stopped for lunch in Gearheart at the Mcmenamins Sandtrap. We were very happy to find some great food and for Todd some great beer. We always like to get seafood when we are on the coast and they had a great selection of yummy fish. At the Sandtrap we were able to sit out on the deck and admire the view of the beautiful golf course. We hope to go back someday and possibly stay at the resort in Gearheart and play a few rounds of golf and play on the beach.

We only had a short drive up to Fort Stevens from Gearheart. We arrived at the campground and quickly set up camp. The great thing about owning a camper is that you really just have to park it and get the camping chairs out to set up camp. It was in the low 70's this day so we wanted to get on our bikes and explore the paved trails as quickly as we could. So, after a bit of relaxing at the camp, we headed out on our bikes to explore and get to the beach. It was so nice to feel the sand and admire the coastline.

Here is Meadow checking out the golf course.

I will hopefully get to part 2 sometime later today.....
