New Years 2009

This New Years we decided to stay home instead of going to Sunriver, like we have for the past several years. It was really nice being able to get together with some of our local friends. We had nine people all together, which was a perfect number for our cozy abode. Meadow had her friend Maddie to play with early in the evening. Meadow has recently arrived at the stage of what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine. It is kind of cute to see her attachment to her toys, but also a little interesting trying to intervene so that Maddie could play with some of the toys. After the girls played for awhile, we put them to bed and the adults went up to the bonus room/jam room. This is Todd's drum lair for those who have not seen our home. It is really a fun space where you can hang out and watch movies or play music or do yoga. Todd had set up a projector so that we could watch the ball drop on a big screen. He also had made some ginger infused gin awhile back, which was a nice drink to have to ring in the new year.

Here I am drinking a gin ginger and tonic and hanging out with friends and Todd's drums. Todd actually did a brief solo after some egging on and I even played a brief stint of Charriots of Fire on the flute. I am sure that will be a solo no one will forget. It was really a nice evening with good food, friends and conversation. Jd, looking a bit chill, and myself and Jen.

Cute new outfit from Aunt Tonia. Everyone should own a velour pantsuit.

Hmm... Zoe rocked the velour pantsuit while I was in Minneapolis. Maybe that's something I need to consider more seriously. :)
